Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring CA RN licensure and Trauma Level I experience.

Details

• Work in the MS/Tele unit of a Trauma Level I hospital
• Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics with neurology, stroke, cardiac, wound care, respiratory, orthopedic, oncology, and surgical diagnoses
• Float position based on hospital census
• Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours, 1900-0730
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Call required
• Uses Pyxis and Omnicell medication systems
• Uses EPIC charting system
• Uses SBAR communication system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in hand
• BLS certification required
• EKG certification required (facility provides)
• Minimum 2 years of experience required (hard stop)
• Trauma Level I experience required
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with rapid response/code teams
• Peripheral line care and management
• Nasal cannula and oxygen administration including oxygen tanks
• Non-invasive airway management
• Isolation precautions experience
• EPIC EMR experience
• One professional reference required within the past 2 years
• Nursys report required, pulled within 2 weeks of consideration
• No Nursys hits permitted

Additional Information

• Provide care for patients with neurology, stroke, cardiac, wound care, respiratory, ortho, oncology, and surgical conditions
• Float within the hospital based on census needs
• Navy scrubs required
• First-time travelers will be considered if experienced
• Previous permanent staff at this facility are not eligible to apply
• RTO must be submitted at time of consideration; no additions afterward
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate within 50 miles of the facility
