Job Summary:
The Medical Surgical Oncology Floor Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in Palo Alto, California. This role involves providing comprehensive, hands-on nursing care to patients within an evidence-based practice framework, aligned with the Scope of Practice of the California Nursing Practice Act, hospital policies, and regulatory standards. The RN collaborates closely with patients, families, and healthcare team members to deliver personalized care and support recovery or management of oncologic conditions.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Rotating shift; 12 hours per shift; minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid California Registered Nurse (CA-RN) license; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association; no specific experience required beyond current licensure and certification.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in medical-surgical or oncology nursing is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Additional Information: The RN will assess patient conditions, interpret clinical data, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate intervention outcomes. They will provide patient education on self-care and treatment plans, assist with emergency protocols, and contribute to team building and continuous quality improvement efforts. Familiarity with healthcare technology for documentation and communication is expected.
