Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring at least 2 years of RN experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit in a hospital setting
• Primarily Med/Surg patient population on a telemetry-capable unit
• Cares for observation, respiratory, general medical-surgical, palliative/end-of-life/hospice, psychiatric observation, diabetic, and surgical patients
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00pm-7:30am
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage as needed
• Floating required across any Cone Health campus as needed
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required, in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Previous Charge RN experience preferred
• LTAC experience preferred
• Must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during onboarding (two attempts allowed)
• Skills in respiratory care (BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, suctioning), IV therapy, wound care, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation preferred
• Current driver's license required to verify address

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care for a mixed medical-surgical and telemetry patient population
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as no local rates apply
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• RTO must be submitted with the initial application; no post-submission RTO requests accepted
• Third-party education verification required; degrees from schools on the Florida Diploma Fraud Audit list will not be accepted
• No open background check cases permitted
• Non-billable orientation modules average 2-4 hours and vary by unit
