Job Summary
This is a Medical Surgical with Telemetry Registered Nurse position located in Lee's Summit, Missouri. The role involves providing patient care in a community hospital setting, with an emphasis on telemetry monitoring, medication management, and patient assessments. The position requires a proactive and adaptable nurse to deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale); 2 years of experience including community hospital experience; charting system experience in EPIC; valid Missouri nursing license; minimum of 0 years of experience
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience, neuro and telemetry experience, work in MS/Tele, telemetry oncology, ER holding, neuro stepdown, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, and familiarity with interpretation of dysrhythmias and emergency response protocols
- Float: Float rotation may be required to meet facility needs across departments and units
- Additional Information:
- Open to first-time travelers
- Open to accommodating block schedules
- No local candidates accepted within 75-mile radius
- Pending Missouri license accepted
- No RTO restrictions exceeding 7 days
- Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks, with canceled shifts being of the regular shift length
- Special requirements include management of cardiac arrhythmias, heart failure, chest pain, sepsis, pneumonia, GI bleed, and pre/post cardiac cath patients
- Special equipment includes telemetry monitoring, external CPAP/BIPAP, tracheostomy management, chest tubes, and IV therapy
- Patient age groups: Adults and Geriatrics
- Daily census: 24 patients
- Total staffed beds: 25 beds
- Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- Unit operates EPIC charting system
