Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift contract requiring 2+ years of experience and a WV or Compact RN license.

Details

• position on a 34-bed Medical Surgical unit with telemetry capabilities
• Patient ratios of 1:5-7
• Night shift schedule (4x12 or 3x12), 19:00-07:30, including weekdays and weekends (3 shifts per 4-week period)
• Uses Cerner EMR for charting
• 13-week contract length with possible extension

Requirements

• Active WV or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted for consideration)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• BLS and ACLS certifications must be through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Minimum 2 Manager and/or Charge Nurse references from within the past 2 years required
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and remote cardiac monitoring
• Skills in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen administration preferred
• IV therapy skills including central line and PICC line management preferred
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE

Additional Information

• Provide medical/surgical nursing care with telemetry monitoring on a busy 34-bed unit
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate; those between 75-100 miles may be considered case-by-case at the same rate
• Facility has strict attendance expectations, tolerating only 2-3 call-offs per contract
• Former permanent employees must wait 2 years from their last employment date before returning as a traveler
• Current employees of the Vandalia Health System (including CAMC Health Systems, Mon Health Systems, Davis Medical Center, Broaddus Hospital, Webster Memorial Hospital, Grafton City Hospital, Highland-Clarksburg Hospital, and Minnie Hamilton Health System) are not eligible for this travel contract
• Non-billable orientation modules required prior to start date, averaging 8 hours to complete
• Orientation sessions are held every other Monday
