Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring at least 2 years of recent specialty experience and prior travel experience.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital setting at a Level I Trauma Center
• Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
• Patient ratio is 1:7 under a team nursing model, with support from PCCs and other RN staff
• On-call required as needed
• Weekend rotation required
• Weekend block scheduling may be considered
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Floating between like units and campuses within 20 miles may occur, though cross-campus floating will be rare

Requirements

• Active TN or Compact RN license required — no pending licensure accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Tele experience required; 3+ years preferred
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• At least one completed prior travel assignment required
• ADN degree minimum for this position
• Driver's License required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
• All requested time off must be submitted upfront; RTO cannot be approved after an offer has been extended
• If Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's all fall within the assignment, the traveler must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 holidays; if only 2 holidays fall within the assignment, at least 1 must be worked
• Former permanent employees or internal associate travelers must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers are not accepted unless they have 3+ years of recent experience
