Location: Everett, Washington

Schedule: 3x12 or 4x12 Day shifts (06:30 - 19:00); 60 guaranteed hours per 2-week period; Weekend coverage required; Floating to telemetry units may be required based on census

Highlights:

• High-acuity, fast-paced Medical Intensive Care Unit at a Level II Trauma Center with 571 total beds
• Standard 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio with CNA support on every shift; ratio may increase to 4:1 for boarding patients awaiting transfer
• Care for medically complex, critically ill patients including respiratory failure, mechanical ventilation, cardiac arrest with TTM, multisystem organ failure, shock states, CVA post-TPA, ARDS, and DKA
• Frequent bedside procedures including central and arterial line placements, chest tube insertion, rapid sequence intubation, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and code blue responses
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and physical therapy
• EPIC charting system with specialized equipment including Zoll intravascular cooling catheters, Tortoise proning system, Phillips monitors, and Drager ventilators

Requirements:

• Active Compact RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of recent MICU experience; first-time travelers accepted with at least 2 years of experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• 2 hours of stroke-specific education annually
• EPIC charting experience required
• Level II Trauma Center experience required
• Experience with 2:1 patient ratios and critical care skills including ventilator management, vasoactive drip titration, arterial line management, central line care, and blood product administration
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible at standard rates
• Clean background check required; facility does not accept Nursys or background hits
