Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift float pool position at a teaching hospital, requiring 2 years of experience and a compact or OH RN license.

Details

• MS/Tele Float Pool position within a teaching hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
• 13-week assignment length
• Floating required within the OSU hospital system
• Some weekends and holidays required
• EPIC EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Previous travel experience required
• IV start and tele monitoring skills required
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Teaching hospital, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, blood product administration, and PICC line management
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy care preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response/code team involvement preferred
• Experience with wound care/wound vac, IV insulin protocols, and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience with orthopedic and ortho trauma care, total joint replacement, and renal/hemodialysis management preferred
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role; charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within the Med/Surg Tele unit, managing a variety of medical-surgical and telemetry patients
• Candidates must complete Ohio BCI and FBI fingerprinting promptly after accepting an offer, including lifetime background checks
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Former employees are eligible for travel assignments after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible to work as travelers
• First-time travelers are not being considered for this position given the travel experience requirement
