Telemetry Nurse

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Telemetry Nurse to join our team in a float pool capacity. This position will primarily work in a telemetry unit, providing high-quality care to patients with various medical needs. Our ideal candidate will have a background in telemetry nursing, with special emphasis on treating patients with heart dysrhythmias and other related conditions.

Unit Information

• Unit: MS/Tele Float Pool
• Unit Type: Telemetry
• Number of Beds: 34
• Patient Ratios: 1:6

Common Patient Diagnoses

• Heart dysrhythmias
• Gastrointestinal issues
• Dialysis patients
• General medical cases

Job Responsibilities

The Telemetry Nurse will be responsible for comprehensive patient care, including:

• Monitoring cardiac rhythms and vital signs
• Administering medications and titrating drips as needed
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop patient care plans
• Educating patients and families regarding health conditions and treatments

Qualifications

• Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a telemetry or critical care setting
• Required Certifications:
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • BLS (AHA)
  • NIHSS
• Preferred Experience: Experience with PCU/ICU patients is desirable

Work Schedule

• Shift: Night shifts, 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Yes

Additional Information

Nurses in this role may be required to float to various telemetry units within the region as needed. Orientation will be provided for 1-2 days to familiarize the new hire with department protocols and procedures. Scrub colors are professional attire in any suitable color.
