Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele float position requiring charge nurse experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

• Float RN role covering Med/Surg and Telemetry units within the hospital
• Patient population may include ER boarded patients, telemetry, and med-surg cases
• Nurse-to-patient ratio varies 1:4-6 depending on unit acuity
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 1900-0730
• May include charge responsibilities on smaller units staffed with 1-2 RNs supported by LPNs and CNAs
• Floating required between sister facilities within the system
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS required, ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Experience with 1:4-6 patient ratios
• Epic EMR experience required
• US clinical experience required; Canadian experience alone does not qualify
• Skills in cardiac telemetry, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, isolation precautions/PPE, and nasal cannula/respiratory care

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care across varying units based on institutional needs, including occasional charge duties such as managing staffing, bed flow, and coordination
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility, though local candidates are accepted at a lower bill rate
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must live outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
• Two supervisory references required, covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years
• RTO requests should be submitted upfront, as post-offer schedule changes may not be accommodated
• Previous travel experience is not required
