Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg Float Pool RN for night shift coverage, requiring telemetry skills and a WI or compact RN license.

Details

• Float position covering Med/Surg and Telemetry units, including cardiac, spine, and neuro specialties
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30, 3x per week
• Weekend and holiday coverage required as operational needs dictate
• Floating required as needed across units, including a hard-stop willingness to float to Neuro and Oncology
• Epic EMR experience required, preferably within the last 12 months

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty being submitted
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to starting, including strict criteria for rhythm identification and heart block interpretation
• Experience in diverse Med/Surg units such as cardiac, spine, and neuro required
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and telemetry required
• Experience with chest tubes, tracheostomy care, feeding tube management, and IV therapy preferred
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred

Additional Information

• Work as part of a float pool providing care across multiple Med/Surg and Telemetry units
• Must reside within 50 miles of the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Candidates must have prior travel nursing experience
• Must successfully complete a telemetry exam with up to three attempts, including a cardiac interpretation review course if needed after a second failed attempt
• Facility is a Magnet-designated teaching hospital ranked as Wisconsin's #1 hospital
• Parking permit required if parking onsite, with alternative transportation options available
