Description

American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital, requiring Epic experience and a valid WI or compact RN license.

Details

• Float position covering Med/Surg units including cardiac, spine, and neuro specialties
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
• Weekend and holiday coverage required based on operational needs
• Floating required as needed across units, with a hard stop on floating to Neuro and Oncology units
• Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact license required
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum two years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in Med/Surg specialty
• Epic EMR experience required, preferably within the last 12 months
• Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting, including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and an 80% or higher overall passing score
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience preferred

• Role includes cardiac telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response skills
• Experience with chest tube management, tracheostomy care, wound care, and IV therapy is valuable
• Skills in insulin drip titration, PCA, Heparin protocols, and post-surgical care (ortho, cardiac, neuro) are relevant to this role
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• Parking permit required if parking onsite, with alternative transportation options available
