Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a MS/Tele position requiring SC or compact RN license and prior telemetry competency.

Details

  • Acute care hospital setting within the MS/Tele unit
  • Patient ratios of approximately 1:5-6
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 6:45a-7:15p
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Floating within scope required to meet facility needs, including sister units/facilities
  • Uses Epic EMR
  • Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per 2 weeks

Requirements

  • Slicense: SC or Compact RN license must be in hand prior to start
  • Certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Tele competency required
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and PICC line management, blood product administration, and peripheral line care
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and rapid response/code team involvement preferred
  • Experience with chest tube management, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care preferred
  • Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care for cardiac telemetry, respiratory, neurological, and gastrointestinal patient populations
  • Level III Trauma acute care hospital environment
  • Scrub color required: Royal Blue
  • Parking available at no cost
  • First-time travelers may be considered depending on position
  • Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis at a reduced bill rate
  • Radius rule of 60 miles applies, with non-local candidates prioritized
  • Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
  • Block scheduling requests may be submitted but are not guaranteed
  • During hurricane season (June–November), staff may be required to support emergency response teams
