Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a MS/Tele position requiring 2 years of experience and an active SC or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in the MS/Tele unit of a Level III Trauma acute care hospital with 286 staffed beds
  • Patient ratios of 1:5-6
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 6:45a-7:15p
  • Required to work every other weekend
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating within scope required to meet facility needs and between like units/sister facilities
  • Uses Epic charting system
  • Scrub color required is royal blue

Requirements

  • Active SC RN license or Compact license must be in hand prior to start
  • Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required, NIHSS preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele nursing experience required
  • Tele competency required
  • Previous charge experience preferred
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, port access/management, blood product administration, central line care, peripheral line care, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs
  • Social Security Number required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and rapid response/code team utilization
  • Responsibilities may include wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, feeding tube management, and post-MI or pre/post cardiac cath care
  • Facility prioritizes non-local candidates; local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate
  • Radius rule of 60 miles applies for local candidate designation
  • Candidates who were previous permanent or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Block scheduling requests may be submitted for approval but are not guaranteed
  • Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
  • During hurricane season (June through November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
  • No cost parking available on-site
