Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring SC or compact RN license and 2 years of tele nursing experience.

Details

• Work in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit of an acute care hospital
• Level III Trauma facility with 286 staffed beds
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 6:45a-7:15p
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs, including sister facilities
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact license must be in hand prior to start
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Tele competency required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred
• Driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to med/surg telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Perform skills such as IV therapy, central and PICC line management, blood product administration, and wound care
• Manage respiratory care including chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care
• Royal Blue scrub color required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous permanent or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis
• Must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility to be prioritized for placement
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application for consideration
• During hurricane season (June through November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
