Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position requiring 2+ years of MS/Tele experience and a South Carolina or Compact RN license.

Details

  • Acute care hospital setting on a new Med/Surg Tele unit currently building up staff and beds
  • Night shift schedule of 3x12 hours from 6:45pm to 7:15am
  • Patient ratio of 1:6
  • Required to work every other weekend
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
  • Bedside monitors equipped with telemetry, blood pressure, and pulse ox capability
  • Charge role split between stepdown and 3 west
  • 24/7 house supervisor coverage available
  • Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active SC or Compact RN license required in hand prior to start
  • Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele nursing experience required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications only)
  • Experience with telemetry, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and on-unit telemetry monitoring required
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • Experience with isolation precautions/PPE, oxygen administration via nasal cannula, IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral line care, and renal failure management

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care on a newly established Med/Surg Tele unit including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
  • Perform interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Royal blue scrub color required
  • First-time travelers may be considered for this position
  • Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local and may be offered a reduced pay rate
  • Non-local candidates are prioritized for this position
  • All requested time off must be submitted at time of application for consideration
  • Employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November)
  • Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
