Description

American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2+ years of experience, a NC or compact RN license, and EPIC experience.

Details

• Work in a hospital Med/Surg Tele unit with telemetry-capable monitoring
• Primarily general medical-surgical patient population, including observation, respiratory conditions, palliative/hospice, psychiatric observation, diabetes management, and surgical patients
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage as needed
• Floating required across all campus facilities within the health system
• Uses EPIC EMR system

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required and must be in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Previous Charge RN and LTAC experience preferred
• Must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during onboarding (two attempts allowed)
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, and oral suctioning
• Experience with IV therapy, PICC line management, and blood product administration preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Wound care/wound vac experience preferred
• Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care preferred
• Current driver's license required to verify address

• Provide direct patient care for a variety of medical-surgical and telemetry patients
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted
• RTO requests must be submitted with the initial application; no post-submission RTO accepted

• Floating may occur to any facility within the health system as needed
