Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring active NY licensure and phlebotomy/IV competency.

Details

• Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:00)
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Day/evening ratios of 5:1 (stretch 6-7:1); night ratios of 6-7:1 (stretch 8-10:1)
• PCTs on unit handle vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and ADLs
• Floating required within scope to like units
• No on-call requirement
• Block scheduling may be accommodated but not guaranteed

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required in hand
• BLS certification required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
• Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and peripheral IV placement
• Epic charting experience strongly preferred
• Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience using Rapid Response/Code teams
• Experience with peripheral line care/management
• Experience with nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, and portable oxygen tanks
• Experience with non-invasive airway management and isolation precautions
• Teaching hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

• Care for patients with acute respiratory failure, CHF, COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, and sepsis
• Exposure to BIPAP, CPAP, High Flow, ventilators, trach, and chest tube equipment
• Scrub colors limited to any combination of navy and white
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be considered
• RTO limited to no more than 1 week per contract
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous employees must have at least a 6-month system-wide break in service to be eligible for rehire
