Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring MO or compact RN licensure and at least 1.5 years of Med/Surg experience.

Details

• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
• Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit with patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Mandatory floating to the adult MS Cluster, including other MS/Tele units
• Cerner charting system preferred
• 36 or 48 hour contracts available

Requirements

• Active MO or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required; CMSRN certification preferred
• Minimum 1.5 years of Med/Surg experience required, 2 years preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line and PICC line management
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and telemetry preferred
• Respiratory care skills including chest tube management, HFNC, and ABG interpretation preferred
• Wound care/wound vac experience preferred
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
• Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for Med/Surg Telemetry patients including monitoring, medication administration, and wound care
• Required to work 50% of holidays that fall within the contract, with flexibility on which holidays are worked
• Facility is open 24/7/365, requiring rotating shifts and willingness to work during inclement weather
• Floating is mandatory across the organization depending on unit assignment
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted, though those residing within 50 miles are not eligible, and those 51-74 miles away may be offered a local rate
• Local candidates are not eligible for contract extensions beyond the initial assignment
• Maximum RTO of 10 days, with none allowed during the first week due to orientation
• Travelers may work up to three consecutive 13-week contracts (or 9 months), followed by a mandatory 6-month break before returning in an agency capacity
