Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Med/Surg Tele unit requiring at least 2 years of current acute care experience in the specialty and OH or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Mixed acuity MS/Tele unit caring for both PCU and MS patients
• Oncology patient population may be included; oncology experience preferred but not required
• Night shift (3x12 Hours), 19:00-7:30, with possible rotation to day shift based on department needs
• Shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, though changes are not guaranteed
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity level
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Acute care experience must be current and within the last 12 months, in the specialty applied for
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• BLS certification required
• ACLS, NIHSS, and OCN certifications preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skills required: IV starts, cardiac monitoring/telemetry, tracheostomy care/management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Oncology skills such as chemotherapy administration preferred
• Respiratory skills such as BiPAP/CPAP management preferred
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference; coworker references not accepted

• Provide care for mixed acuity patients across PCU and MS/Tele levels
• Candidates should come with a willingness to learn and grow their nursing practice

• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible for traveler positions
• RTO must be submitted with the contract and built in, limited to 7 days or less
• Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed urgently upon contract signing due to compliance deadlines
