Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift float pool role at a teaching hospital, requiring 2 years of experience and a compact or Ohio RN license.

Details

• Float pool position within the Med/Surg Tele unit
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
• 36 hours per week with option of 13-26 week assignment length
• Float required within OSU hospital system
• Some weekends and holidays required
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active compact or Ohio RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Previous travel experience required
• Experience with IV starts and telemetry monitoring required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role; Charge RN acceptable as second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care within a Med/Surg Tele float pool, including IV therapy, cardiac monitoring, and management of dysrhythmias
• Skilled in wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, and respiratory support such as oxygen administration and tracheostomy care
• Experience with neurological conditions such as CVA, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury preferred
• Experience with orthopedic and ortho trauma patients, including total joint replacement, preferred
• Candidates must complete Ohio BCI and FBI fingerprinting promptly after accepting an offer, including lifetime background checks
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for travel assignments after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees are ineligible to be hired as travelers at this health system
• RTO must be requested and built into the contract prior to consideration, limited to 7 days or less
