Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2 years of M/S/Tele experience and EPIC EMR proficiency.

Details

• Acute care setting on a 32-bed Medical/Surgical overflow unit that also accepts non-acute stroke patients
• Patient ratios of 4:1 and 5:1
• Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts (7a-730p/1900-0730a)
• Uses EPIC EMR, experience required
• Self-scheduling with option to fill open shifts
• Weekend requirements based on unit needs/demands
• Floating required
• RNs required to titrate drips including insulin and pain medications
• Centralized tele monitoring; RNs required to validate tele strips
• Nurse aides present on unit with average ratio of 8:1/10:1
• Respiratory equipment used includes Bipap and high flow
• Possible standby requirement, no on-call requirement
• Both charge nurse and house supervisor support available

Requirements

• Active WA or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical and Telemetry experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
