Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 13-week assignment requiring NY licensure, charge experience, and EPIC proficiency.

Details

• Complex care unit treating medicine, ortho overflow, and long-term complex patients
• 13-week assignment with alternating 7a-7p and 7p-7a shifts (4x12 hours)
• Patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7 for Med/Surg
• Floating required
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• 528-bed tertiary care hospital setting

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required in hand - no exceptions
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Proficiency with EPIC charting system required
• Skilled in telemetry monitoring, rapid response/code team use, and management of pacemakers (temporary/permanent)
• Experience with feeding tube care, blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, peripheral and PICC line management, and IV starts
• Experience with Heparin protocols, ortho trauma, total joint replacements, and surgical drain management
• Proficient in high flow nasal cannula, nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, and portable oxygen tank use
• Tracheostomy management, isolation precautions, and wound care/wound vac experience required

Additional Information

• Provide complex medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management
• Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration responsibilities
• Administer thrombolytic agents and manage PCA as needed
• Perform renal failure and genitourinary care as part of patient management
• Navy scrubs required on bottom, navy or white on top
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be considered
• Returning staff must have a 6-month system-wide break in service
• Cannot be submitted with more than 10 days of requested time off
