Description

American Traveler is hiring a MS/Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring an active NY license, 2+ years of experience, and EPIC charting experience.

Details

• Work on a 39-bed combined Acute Stroke and Medical unit specializing in acute stroke and neurological patients as well as acute medical patients
• Unit follows an adjustable acuity delivery of care model for evidence-based stroke care
• Patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7 for Med/Surg patients
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required within skillset
• Uses EPIC charting system
• Utilizes cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and rapid response/code teams
• Performs peripheral IV line care and management
• Manages respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, and portable oxygen tanks
• Follows isolation precautions protocols

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required in hand, no exceptions
• Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele nursing experience required
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required, ACLS also required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Trauma Level I hospital experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for acute stroke, neurological, and acute medical patients
• Facility is a tertiary care hospital with 528 staffed beds
• Scrub color requirement is any combination of navy and white
• Candidates must reside within a 75-mile radius of the facility to be considered local
• Candidates with more than 10 days of requested RTO will not be considered
• Previous employees may be considered if it has been at least 1 year since their last assignment
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position due to travel experience requirement
