Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position requiring an active NY license in hand and EPIC charting experience.

Details

• Work in the MS/Tele unit of a tertiary care hospital with 528 staffed beds
• Care for a patient population requiring cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team involvement
• Handle a 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio for Med/Surg patients
• Perform IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral line care, and respiratory support including nasal cannula and oxygen administration
• Uses EPIC for charting
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required
• 13-week contract length

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required in hand, no exceptions
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Competent in isolation precautions and PPE use

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac monitoring and emergency response care including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Manage peripheral IV lines and administer respiratory support as needed
• Utilize rapid response and code teams when appropriate
• Scrub colors accepted are any combination of navy and white
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Returning staff must have a 6-month break system-wide before reapplying
• RTO requests exceeding 10 days are not accepted for consideration
