Job Summary:
The intensive care unit neurologist position is located in Baltimore, Maryland. This role involves providing specialized critical care to neurological and neurosurgical patients, with a focus on complex neurological conditions within a dedicated ICU setting. It offers an opportunity to work in a highly specialized environment caring for critically ill adults and geriatrics.

Job Details:

• Shift: 12-hour nights, 3x12 (19:00-07:30)
• Schedule: Nights, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Must hold an active Maryland or Compact State RN license; BLS and ACLS certifications are required; CPI and NIHSS certifications are preferred.
• Additional Information:
  • Start date: 08/17/2026
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Experience: Minimum of 0 years required; 2 years of experience preferred, including experience with patient ratios of 1:2, up to 3 with stable, lower acuity patients.
  • Patient age group: Adults and Geriatrics
  • Common diagnoses include acute ischemic stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, TBI, status epilepticus, brain tumors, and other critically ill neurological conditions.
  • Procedures performed include ICP monitoring, external ventricular drain (EVD) management, continuous EEG (cEEG), mechanical ventilation, arterial line insertion, and neurocritical assessments.
  • Unit provides comprehensive interdiciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
  • Float within scope may be required.
  • On-call may be required, and weekends are scheduled every other week.
