Job Description

The Neuro ICU is a specialized critical care environment focusing on adult and geriatric patients with neurological conditions. This unit provides comprehensive care for patients suffering from various diagnoses, including acute ischemic stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, traumatic brain injury, and more. The unit is equipped with state-of-the-art technology including ICP monitors, external ventricular drains, and continuous EEG monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care for patients in the Neuro ICU setting.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, including neurological assessments, vital signs, and managing complex interventions.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV and continuous sedation management.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care.
• Utilize advanced clinical equipment and technologies as part of patient management.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, preferably in a Neuro ICU or similar critical care environment.
• Experience with patient care responsibilities in high-acuity situations.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current RN license in Maryland or compact state.
• BLS and ACLS certification required; CPI and NIHSS certifications preferred.
