Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with neuro IR and scrub experience for a 13-week travel assignment in Interventional Radiology.

Details

  • Work in the Interventional Radiology and Special Procedures unit
  • 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM
  • On call required with a 30 minute response time
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Uses fluoroscopy, CT, ultrasound, GE Innova IGS, and Siemens imaging equipment
  • Performs procedures including angiography, embolization, stent placement, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, IVC filter placement/removal, and vascular closure
  • Neurological procedures include carotid angiography, embolization, stent placement, and vertebroplasty

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Interventional Radiology required; candidates with 1 year of experience may be considered if they have neuro IR and scrub experience
  • ARRT-R certification required; ARRT-VI preferred
  • BLS required; ACLS preferred
  • Scrub experience required
  • Neuro IR experience required
  • Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
  • Skilled in venous access, central line care and maintenance, PICC line care, and procedural monitoring
  • Experience with vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose) preferred
  • License required if applicable
  • Compact or LA license required in hand upon submission
  • Must apply for Allied Health licensure within 72 hours of signing if not already licensed
  • Must live 65+ miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include equipment setup, sterile field maintenance, EKG lead placement, and access site preparation
  • Recognizes and responds to life-threatening arrhythmias and participates in rapid response/code teams as needed
  • Maintains equipment, stocks supplies, and manages inventory
  • May be assigned to an emergency response team during facility emergency events, requiring extended stay or relief team participation
  • Orientation is held five days a week
  • RTO must be disclosed and discussed during the interview process to avoid offer rescission
  • Candidates who previously worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must have a one-year separation before returning as a travel employee
  • Lead tech experience preferred
