Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This role provides specialized care to neonates and infants in a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit serving approximately 190 births per month. The position supports high-acuity neonatal care, including respiratory management, central-line care, medication administration, feeding support, and family education.
Job Details
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week, with weekend coverage every other weekend; weekend requirements may increase based on unit needs. The assignment is scheduled to begin 12/01/2026.
- Required Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of registered nursing experience, including at least 1 year of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit experience; Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit experience; Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications; valid compact nursing license in hand at submission; required charting-system experience; community hospital experience; and prior travel nursing experience.
- Additional Information:
- Provides care for neonates and infants with prematurity, respiratory distress syndrome, feeding and growth needs, sepsis, hypoglycemia, jaundice, and neonatal abstinence syndrome.
- Manages patient assignments of up to 1:3 based on patient acuity.
- Performs or supports central-line care, peripherally inserted central catheter and midline management, retinal examinations for retinopathy of prematurity, spinal taps, intubations, blood product administration, phototherapy, therapeutic hypothermia, and intravenous medication titration.
- Requires proficiency with continuous positive airway pressure, bilevel positive airway pressure, high-frequency ventilation, oscillators, ventilators, isolettes, warmers, feeding pumps, and smart pumps.
- No on-call requirement is specified. Holiday coverage may include 3 of 5 designated holidays.
