Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Specialty - All previous permanent employees of any Providence affiliated facility must be separated from the healthcare provider for a minimum of three months to qualify for a travel position. The role involves providing specialized care to neonates and infants, with a focus on high-risk delivery management, ventilator management, blood product administration, and other critical neonatal procedures. The position requires working on a day shift, with potential floating to different campuses and units, including pediatric and neonatal intensive care settings.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Day shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 48 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: At least 3 years of experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU) at Level III or IV with expertise in neonates between 23-24 weeks gestation. Valid compact license in hand at submission.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Epic charting system.
• Float: First Hill float to Pediatrics and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) only; will float to Issaquah or Edmonds for NICU as needed. May float to other units such as Neonatal and Neonatal Blood and NBN if required.
• Additional Information:
  • Attends high-risk deliveries and neonatal surgeries.
  • Manages ventilator settings (CPAP/BiPAP, High Frequency Vents, Oscillators, Vents).
  • Administers blood products, manages central lines and PICC lines.
  • Performs feeding tube management and neonatal medication calculations.
  • No responsibility for admitting babies, as a dedicated Admit Nurse handles this.
  • Must be willing to work a block schedule, including three or more consecutive days if preferred, and a minimum of 3 out of 5 holidays.
  • Must respond to questions regarding prior employment at a Providence facility and provide references covering the last year.
