Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a NICU position requiring at least 2 years of recent NICU experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

• NICU III/IV setting caring for neonates ranging from <24-28 weeks to >34 weeks gestation
• Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3 depending on acuity
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Variable weekend shifts required
• Floating between units required, with potential floating to sister facilities
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent NICU experience required
• Experience with 1:3 patient ratios required
• Proficiency in IV therapy, administration of blood/blood products, arterial line management, and central line care
• Skilled in UAC/UVC care, neonatal dosage calculations, and administration of vasopressors, antibiotics, steroids, and surfactants
• Experience with respiratory support including Bubble CPAP, HFNC, high frequency ventilation, oscillators, and ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
• Skilled in therapeutic hypothermia, neonatal abstinence syndrome, and seizure disorder management
• Experience with phototherapy, blood glucose monitoring, and GI care including NEC and feeding management (bottle, breast, gavage)
• Competent in dysrhythmia interpretation, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, and sepsis work-up
• Epic charting experience required
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive neonatal critical care across a range of gestational ages and acuity levels
• Support developmental care practices and patient/family teaching
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; limited flexibility for post-offer requests
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month break, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Candidates residing within 50 miles are subject to local radius rules
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this role
