NICU Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced NICU Registered Nurse to join our team in a Level 3b Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This is a full-time position requiring a commitment to providing exceptional care to our smallest patients.
Shift Details
Shift Type: Nights
Shift Length: 12 hours
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holidays: Work with permanent staff schedule
Unit Information
Unit Type: NICU Level 3b
Number of Beds: 16 (expanding to 20 beds)
Patient Ratios: 1:1 or 1:3 for feeder/growers
Common Diagnoses: All gestational ages, including but not limited to prematurity, sepsis, and substance withdrawal
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to neonates
Monitor patients using Cerner EMR systems
Administer medications and oversee drips as required
Perform neonatal resuscitation and attend deliveries as needed
Collaborate with the healthcare team, including 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy services
Float to Labor and Delivery or Postpartum to care for newborns as necessary
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Level 3 NICU
Current BLS Certification
Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
Experience with high-acuity neonates and ventilators preferred
Spanish-speaking skills are a plus
Orientation and Training
Orientation: 2-3 shifts specific to NICU procedures and protocols
