Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a NICU position on night shift, requiring at least 2 years of NICU experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a Level III/IV NICU setting
• Care for neonates ranging from <24-28 weeks to >34 weeks gestation
• Patient ratios vary between 1:1, 1:2, and 1:3
• Night shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
• Variable weekend requirements
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required between units and possibly sister facilities within the state
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active WA state or compact RN license required in hand at submission
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
• 1:3 patient ratio experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, UAC/UVC care, and administration of blood products
• Experience with neonatal medication administration including vasopressors, antibiotics, and neonatal dosage calculations
• Competent in respiratory care including ventilator management, high frequency ventilation, oscillators, nitric oxide therapy, and CPAP
• Experience managing neonatal conditions such as NEC, respiratory distress syndrome, neonatal sepsis, and seizure disorders
• Skilled in developmental care, thermoregulation, and patient/family teaching
• Two professional references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Must respond to questions regarding prior employment history with Providence facilities

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive neonatal critical care across varying acuity levels and gestational ages
• Support services include therapeutic hypothermia, phototherapy, and lumbar puncture assistance
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront, as post-offer requests may not be accommodated
• Local candidates accepted at lower bill rate
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for travel rate
• Former permanent employees may return after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers are not required for this position
