Travel Registered Nurse
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Travel Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract assignment in Rochester, New York. This role offers an opportunity to provide high-quality patient care within a dynamic acute care setting, contributing to an interdisciplinary team focused on positive patient outcomes.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care for a diverse adult population. This assignment is ideal for a compassionate and adaptable RN looking to leverage their clinical expertise in a new environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care plans.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring for effectiveness and adverse reactions.
Collaborate effectively with physicians, other nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Educate patients and their families on health conditions, medications, and self-care techniques.
Maintain accurate and thorough electronic health records and documentation.
Respond to medical emergencies and provide critical care interventions as needed.
Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Minimum of 1-2 years of recent acute care Registered Nurse experience.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Experience working in a large academic medical center or similar teaching hospital environment.
Additional advanced certifications relevant to acute care (e.g., ACLS, PALS) are a plus.
Skills & Competencies
Proficient in comprehensive patient assessment and critical thinking.
Strong IV insertion and medication administration skills.
Competency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration abilities.
Adaptability and flexibility to new environments and patient populations.
