Travel Registered Nurse

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Travel Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract assignment in Rochester, New York. This role offers an opportunity to provide high-quality patient care within a dynamic acute care setting, contributing to an interdisciplinary team focused on positive patient outcomes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care for a diverse adult population. This assignment is ideal for a compassionate and adaptable RN looking to leverage their clinical expertise in a new environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring for effectiveness and adverse reactions.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, other nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Educate patients and their families on health conditions, medications, and self-care techniques.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough electronic health records and documentation.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide critical care interventions as needed.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of recent acute care Registered Nurse experience.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Experience working in a large academic medical center or similar teaching hospital environment.
  • Additional advanced certifications relevant to acute care (e.g., ACLS, PALS) are a plus.
Skills & Competencies
  • Proficient in comprehensive patient assessment and critical thinking.
  • Strong IV insertion and medication administration skills.
  • Competency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration abilities.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to new environments and patient populations.
