Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor
Job Summary
This is a travel contract opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor located in Geneva, New York. The successful candidate will provide essential leadership and clinical oversight during the night shift, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and efficient unit operations.
This role involves supervising nursing staff, managing patient flow, and acting as a critical resource for clinical decision-making within a dynamic healthcare environment. The RN Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining patient safety, staff accountability, and adherence to all facility policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct supervision and support to nursing staff, ensuring adherence to established policies, procedures, and patient care standards.
Oversee patient admissions, discharges, and transfers, ensuring smooth transitions and appropriate resource allocation.
Respond to and manage emergent situations, providing immediate clinical intervention and coordinating with interdisciplinary teams.
Facilitate effective communication between nursing staff, physicians, patients, and families.
Participate in conflict resolution and problem-solving related to patient care and staff issues.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities and incidents.
Conduct regular rounds to assess patient needs, staff performance, and overall unit environment.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a supervisory or charge nurse role.
Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Experience in an acute care setting.
Specialty certification relevant to the clinical area (e.g., Med-Surg, Critical Care).
