Travel RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,080–$2,190

Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

• Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute hospital setting
• At least 1 year of Emergency Department nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Current stroke or NIHSS certification; AHA or RQI credentials accepted where applicable
• Strong patient assessment, triage, prioritization, communication, and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to work rotating day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled

Emergency Department Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients presenting with urgent, emergent, and routine medical needs.
• Perform emergency department triage and use established emergency severity standards to identify care priorities.
• Complete timely primary and secondary nursing assessments for patients of all age groups.
• Recognize changes in patient condition, initiate appropriate interventions, and promptly communicate concerns.
• Perform and assist with invasive and non-invasive procedures, treatments, and therapeutic interventions within scope of practice.
• Reassess patients to evaluate responses to treatment and modify the plan of care as needed.
• Prepare patients and families for diagnostic procedures, treatments, discharge, and follow-up care.
• Provide clear education regarding medications, home care, warning signs, and continued recovery.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, EMS, ancillary departments, and other members of the emergency care team.
• Promote patient safety, infection prevention, comfort, dignity, and a positive healing environment.
• Document assessments, interventions, patient responses, education, and care coordination accurately and promptly.
• Support effective teamwork through respectful communication, appropriate delegation, and professional accountability.
