Description:
This position is for the Ambulatory Care Pediatric Clinic.
The Agency Staff Nurse will provide safe, compassionate, and age-appropriate nursing care to pediatric patients.
Responsibilities will include patient assessment and triage.
Medication administration and immunizations are essential tasks.
Patient and family education is a crucial component of care.
Care coordination and documentation are necessary for efficient clinic operations.
The nurse will monitor patients for changes in condition.
Appropriate responses to urgent needs will be required.
Maintaining infection prevention and safety standards is vital.
The nurse will support efficient clinic operations.
Collaboration with the interdisciplinary team is expected.
Adherence to hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and standards of pediatric nursing practice is mandatory.
Skills required include pediatric nursing assessment, ability to assess infants, children, and adolescents, and recognize changes in condition.
Knowledge of weight-based medication dosing and safe medication administration is essential.
Competency in administering routine childhood and adolescent vaccines and monitoring for adverse reactions is required.
Triage skills to prioritize pediatric patients based on symptoms and acuity are important.
The ability to communicate health information clearly to children and caregivers is necessary.
Clinical judgment to recognize changes in a child’s condition and escalate concerns appropriately is essential.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are needed to establish rapport with pediatric patients and families.
Accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, medications, and patient education is critical.
Knowledge of appropriate infection control practices and pediatric patient safety standards is required.
Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to pediatric emergencies within the ambulatory setting is necessary.
