Registered Nurse – Cardiac Cath Lab / EP

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Days | 4x10-Hour Shifts | Monday–Friday, No Weekends, No On-Call | 40 Hours per Week
Key Responsibilities
Provide pre- and post-procedure recovery care for patients undergoing minimally invasive cardiac procedures including coronary angioplasty, stenting, IABP, Impella, electrophysiology studies, and EP device implants
Administer and monitor cardiac-related medications and drips in accordance with established protocols
Utilize EPIC electronic health records system for accurate and timely documentation
Apply critical care skills to monitor and manage cardiac patients throughout the care continuum
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes in the Cath Lab and EP setting
Required Qualifications
Active Virginia RN license or valid Compact RN license in hand at time of submittal – no exceptions
Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in Critical Care, Emergency Services, Cardiac Cath Lab, Pre/Post Care, or Cardiac Rehab
BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association required
Proficiency in EPIC – no exceptions
Must pass EKG competency test with a score of 80% or higher (one attempt, no remediation; covers rhythm identification, interval measurements, heart blocks, lethal rhythms, atrial/junctional rhythms, and pacing)
Must meet facility fit testing requirements; PAPR cannot be accommodated – any history of fit test issues will disqualify a candidate
Preferred Experience / Skills
Hands-on experience with IABP, Impella, and EP device implants in a clinical setting
Background in critical care with a cardiac patient population
Prior travel nursing experience with familiarity in compliance and onboarding processes
