DAY-SHIFT CARDIAC TELEMETRY / STEPDOWN RN CONTRACT – HIGH-ACUITY PCU & POST-OP CARDIAC UNIT

First Connect Health has an immediate 13-week travel contract opening for a highly skilled Cardiac Telemetry / Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) in Johnson City, New York. Operating within the Med Surg ST 3 Cardiac Stepdown department at UHS Wilson Medical Center, this position offers a structured 3x12 daytime schedule. PRE-CALCULATED PAY PACKAGE

• Weekly Gross: $2,621.20
• Weekly Tax-Free Stipend: $1,336.00
• Hourly W2 Rate: $35.70/hr
• Overtime Rate: $53.55/hr

SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS

• Schedule: Day shifts, 3x12-Hours (12-hour days). Block scheduling configurations are not available.
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 regular hours guaranteed weekly.
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend (EOW) coverage expectation.
• On-Call Requirements: Completely free from standard mandatory on-call standby commitments.
• Clinical Scope & Unit Profiling: High-acuity cardiac telemetry stepdown environment supporting a diverse patient mix. Diagnoses and clinical lines encompass Chest Pain (CP), CHF, Arrhythmias, NSTEMI, STEMI, Pulmonary Embolism (PE), Sepsis, Pneumonia (PNA), Acute Stroke, and observation patients.
• Cardiac Interventions & Post-Op Care: Managing post-procedure care for TAVR, Watchman device implants, Mitral Clips, cardiac catheterizations, TR Band applications, and post-femoral groin management/complication monitoring. Care for post-op open heart / CABG surgical patients (>3 days post-op transferred out of CVICU).
• Medication Administration & Drips: High proficiency in administering flat-rate cardiac infusions including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Lidocaine, Milrinone, Heparin, and Insulin, along with oral/IV anticoagulants and cardiac PO medications.
• EMR Charting System: Epic.

REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION

• Experience: Minimum 5 years of direct clinical RN experience with dedicated experience in a cardiac telemetry department / stepdown setting. Demonstrated competency in post-cath, post-CABG, and cardiac drip management is required.
• Licensure: Valid New York State (NYS) RN License must be active and in-hand at the time of submission.
• Certifications Required: Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) credentials are mandatory.
• Skills Checklist: Fully completed and accurate Cardiac Telemetry Skills Checklist must be included with the submittal packet.
