Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to an adult and geriatric patient population on a 16-bed Cardiac Stepdown unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Monitor and manage patients presenting with conditions including post-MI, heart failure, arrhythmias, chest pain, and peripheral vascular disease
- Perform and interpret telemetry monitoring, EKG, and Doppler studies
- Assist with peritoneal dialysis as part of patient care responsibilities
- Utilize Epic for clinical documentation and Pyxis for medication management; communicate using SBAR methodology
- Float within the facility and within scope of practice as needed; work required weekend and holiday shifts per unit scheduling policy
Required Qualifications
- Active RN licensure in Georgia or a Compact state
- Minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse experience; first-time travelers accepted
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Proficiency with Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication
- Ability to work 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling period
- Willingness to work required major holidays per assignment holiday policy
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Charge Nurse experience is strongly preferred
- Prior experience in a cardiac stepdown, telemetry, or progressive care unit setting
- Familiarity with peritoneal dialysis procedures
