Travel Nurse RN - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit - $2,869 per week in Houston, TX

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Duration: 6 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS Must-Have: CRRT trained Description: RN's need to be open to floating. Candidates need to be flexible on scheduling. Self-scheduling is not available. Every other weekend is required. Experience with EPIC is required. CRRT experience is preferred, but training will be provided. Successful placements have a minimum of 3 years of experience. Candidates should have previous travel experience. Experience in a busy hospital setting is essential. The unit has high acuity with a total of 21 beds. Patient ratios are typically 1:2 and occasionally 1:1. Experienced ICU RN's are preferred. Common diagnoses include heart and lung transplants, LVAD patients, and valve surgeries. RNs are required to titrate drips. All vasoactive drips for cardiac patients are included. The unit has a charge RN who usually has patients. Patient care assistants are available on the unit. An intensivist is in-house. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7. The unit utilizes hardwire monitoring. Shifts are based on unit needs. Weekend requirements include 6 shifts in 6 weeks. Holidays are required as needed. There is no call or standby requirement. Floating is based on competency. Scrub color is teal. Unit-specific orientation includes 2-3 shifts with preceptors. Devices commonly seen include LVAD, CRRT/SLED, Impella, and IABP. The cancellation policy includes 4 shifts for assignments of 13 weeks or more and 3 shifts for shorter assignments.
