Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a CVICU setting with a 1:1–2 nurse-to-patient ratio, caring for fresh post-operative open heart surgery patients, ventilated patients, and those with chest tubes and lumbar drains
• Manage patients with chronic and acute renal failure, including those requiring CRRT via Prismax
• Operate and monitor advanced hemodynamic devices including Impella, IABP, Swan-Ganz catheters, Flotrack, temporary pacers, and arterial lines
• Support post-operative recovery for open heart procedures including CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR
• Float as required to all ICUs, PACU, ED (ICU holding patients), and IMC units within the facility
• Adhere to every-other-weekend and holiday scheduling requirements, working 2 of 3 designated holidays

Required Qualifications

• Active NJ RN license or valid Compact license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of current CVICU experience; SICU experience with CVICU training may be considered
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required at time of submission
• Demonstrated experience with advanced devices: Impella, IABP, and CRRT using Prismax, or direct experience with fresh open heart cases
• Proficiency with post-op open heart recovery, Swan-Ganz catheters, Flotrack, temporary pacers, arterial lines, and chest tubes
• No open or active background or license hits

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with SICU patient populations with willingness to complete initial CVICU training
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records system
• Prior travel nursing experience welcomed; first-time travelers accepted
