Job Summary
The healthcare provider is seeking an ICU Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Cardiovascular critical care for a temporary assignment at a busy Level 1 Trauma facility. The role involves managing patients with complex conditions such as heart failure, STEMI, pulmonary emboli, arrhythmias, and MICU overflow, requiring advanced skills in ventilator management, pressor titration, hemodynamics, and emergency response.

Job Details

• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS; minimum 2 years of experience in critical care nursing.
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 48 hours per week, starting 10/05/2026 and ending 01/04/2027.
• The RN must be open to floating to similar units as needed and possess experience with ventilators, pressors, hemodynamics including PACs, CVPs, and arterial lines, as well as managing sheaths, Impella, CRRT, and sedated/paralyzed patients.
• Responsibilities include ventilator troubleshooting, emergency intervention, titration of titratable drips (e.g., epinephrine, norepinephrine, vasopressin, dobutamine, milrinone, amiodarone), and interpreting telemetry strips.
• The unit functions with minimal patient care assistant support, with a nurse-to-patient ratio generally at 1:2, occasionally 1:1.
• A charge nurse is present on each shift and may take an assignment; RN staff are expected to assist with patient care duties and equipment troubleshooting.
• Additional unit details: typical hospitalist and/or intensivist coverage 24/7, telemonitoring with HP monitors, and a focus on rapid response to emergencies such as self-extubation or tube dislodgement.
• Charting is completed via EPIC, and documentation requirements include completing four shifts per 13-week assignment, or three shifts for shorter assignments.
• Orientation includes two 12-hour shifts.
