Job Summary:
Dialysis Unit Nurse in Wausau, WI. This role involves providing dialysis care in inpatient and outpatient settings, with shifts varying between 6, 8, 10, and 12 hours based on patient and clinic needs. The position offers a flexible schedule with a mix of inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, requiring adaptability to different care environments.

Job Details:

• Shift Time: Days, with variable start times ranging from as early as 5:00 am to as late as 7:30 pm for 12-hour shifts.
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: WI Registered Nurse (RN) license, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, minimum 2+ years of previous dialysis experience in inpatient settings, previous Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) and Peritoneal Dialysis experience required. Trauma level II experience highly preferred.
• Charting Experience: Epic experience preferred.
• Inpatient to Outpatient Ratio: Inpatient 1:4 with dialysis technician or 1:1 in ICU units; outpatient 1:8.
• Float Requirements: Float rotation may be required to and from inpatient and outpatient units.
• On Call/Call Back: On call twice weekly as needed, including every other weekend; response time of 1 hour.
• Holiday Rotation: Every other holiday.
• Shift Start Times: Variable based on patient and clinic needs.
• Additional Information: The assignment covers both inpatient and outpatient dialysis roles, with block scheduling available. Travelers may be on call during low census hours with call back pay if called back in. The contract begins on 08/24/2026, with a 13-week duration and guaranteed hours unless during holidays when the unit is closed.
