Job Requirements

• Active RN license in the state of Illinois or a compact RN license
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience required
• Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• PALS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam
• Strong critical thinking skills and confidence in a fast-paced emergency care setting
• Experience with EPIC EHR preferred
• Ability to remain calm, adaptable, and compassionate during emergencies

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients with urgent, emergent, and life-threatening conditions
• Perform thorough assessments, develop care plans, and evaluate patient responses to treatment
• Administer medications safely and in accordance with nursing standards and hospital policies
• Prioritize care for patients requiring triage, stabilization, resuscitation, and crisis intervention
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and the interdisciplinary care team to support excellent outcomes
• Care for patients needing complex therapies such as IV drips, oxygen support, and advanced monitoring
• Support pediatric and adult patients with a wide range of emergency and critical care needs
• Maintain patient safety, dignity, and privacy while responding quickly to changing conditions
• Use sound judgment in a high-intensity environment with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities
