- Patient Population: Adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
- Charting System: Cerner
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend and holidays required
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Floating: May float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of recent registered nursing experience
- Current valid state RN license required at time of submission
- Recent Trauma Level I experience required
- ACLS, BLS, and TNCC required
- PALS experience or certification preferred
- Strong skills in triage, dysrhythmia interpretation, IV placement, and central line care/management
- Experience working in a fast-paced emergency department or acute care environment
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
- Two supervisor references required
- Must meet travel compliance requirements including SSN, DOB, and requested time-off details
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to a broad range of patients in a busy ED setting
- Assess, triage, and prioritize patient needs in a high-volume trauma environment
- Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition with speed and clinical accuracy
- Support treatment plans for patients presenting with urgent and emergent conditions
- Perform IV starts, assist with central line care, and interpret cardiac rhythms as needed
- Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and other interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Maintain accurate documentation in Cerner and uphold safe, effective patient care standards
- Adapt quickly to changing patient volumes and acuity in a Level I Trauma Center
