Job Summary:
Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) Washington, DC. This position requires experienced RNs to work in a fast-paced trauma environment. The role involves managing critical patient care, including medication titrations, arterial lines, and blood transfusions, across a diverse patient population ranging from urgent care to trauma and pediatric patients. Candidates must be willing to work in the trauma room as a bedside trauma RN and be capable of handling 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratios.

Job Details:

  • Location: Washington, DC
  • Shift: Days, 12-hour shifts
  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts; minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Start Date: 08/31/2026
  • Required Qualifications:
    • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state/district of practice
    • ER experience of at least 3 years
    • Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) highly desired
    • Cerner electronic health record experience required
    • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility and be willing/able to work in the trauma room as a bedside trauma RN
    • Certifications: NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), BLS (Basic Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience working with complex nursing care needs in a high-acuity environment
  • Additional Information:
    • The emergency department environment is fast-paced, managing a full spectrum of patient care needs including critical care interventions and complex procedures. The RN will coordinate and deliver care to ensure safety, quality, and a positive patient experience.
    • Candidates must be committed to providing high-quality trauma and emergency care, with the ability to adapt to a dynamic clinical setting.
