Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) nurse position in Presque Isle, Maine. The role involves providing high-quality emergency care to a diverse patient population, including neonates to geriatrics, with a focus on trauma, stroke, STEMI, behavioral health, and other critical conditions. The position requires proficiency in various emergency procedures and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details:
- Shift: Nights (12-hour shift)
- Start Date: 09/14/2026
- Schedule: Three days per week, with minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC); 2 years of experience in emergency nursing; location in Maine; ability to work nights and minimum of 36 hours per week
- Preferred Qualifications: Certifications in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); experience with charge nursing, EKGs, IV starts, nebulizer treatments, vent management, and assisting with casting and suture removal
- Support on the Unit: Respiratory therapist available on dayshift, with call-in capability; mid-level providers, hospitalist, and house supervisor available 24/7; ED involves a multidisciplinary team including ED techs, security, and support staff
- Charting System: FirstNet
- Orientation: Two days of hospital orientation including departmental onboarding, plus one day with a preceptor
- Floats: None required
- Additional Information: Facility features include 11 beds with trauma, behavioral, and negative pressure rooms. Staffing includes multiple shifts with ED tech support and security. Scrub colors are flexible; hospital provides changing rooms and gym facilities. Free parking is available. The hospital community is welcoming and supportive.
