Travel Nurse RN - Emergency Room (ER) / Trauma - $1,837 per week in Alexandria, VA

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour shifts Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years in combined adult and pediatric emergency care License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS required; TNCC preferred Must-Have: Experience in both adult and pediatric emergency care Description: BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required. NIHSS certification is required. TNCC certification is preferred. Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience in combined adult and pediatric emergency care. Common diagnoses include STEMI, stroke, sepsis, sprains, sutures, and high-acuity patients, including pediatrics. Pediatric patients are seen in all zones as there is no separate pediatric area. The emergency department is a mixed adult and pediatric care area. Respiratory therapy is not available; RNs will manage ventilators and high-flow oxygen. Training will be provided for specific procedures. The department uses routine vasopressors, insulin drips, and sedation when necessary. Staffing ratios are typically 4:1, but may stretch to 5:1 during peak census times. Weekend expectations include six shifts in a six-week schedule. Scrubs are navy blue. Shifts generally occur between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. or 1 p.m. and 1 a.m. There are no floating expectations. No on-call duties are required. Holiday expectations include one major and one minor holiday. Epic system access is required.
