Travel Nurse RN - Emergency Room (ER) / Trauma - $1,879 per week in Winston Salem, NC

Job Title: RN - Emergency Department Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Medicine Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 guaranteed Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a Level 1 trauma center required, 3+ years of experience preferred for first-time travelers License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC Must-Have: Experience in fast-paced emergency department settings Skills in trauma care, including management of complex cases and advanced life support Description: The role of the RN in the Emergency Department involves providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process. You will deliver safe and therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Your practice will be guided by evidence-based principles and clinical decision-making techniques. Compassion and effective communication are essential as you help create a safe patient environment and enhance patient experiences. You will work alongside a supportive team that includes ED Technicians, Unit Secretaries, Charge Nurses, and Critical Care Pharmacists. Collaboration with Paramedic Staff and hospitalists will be ongoing to ensure the delivery of high-quality care. The department handles a variety of patient types and common diagnoses, including trauma, cardiac events, and respiratory emergencies. Patient ratios will vary based on clinical area and acuity, generally 3:1 to 6:1 for registered nurses. You may float to the ED Transition Care Unit as needed. Unit-specific technology includes Electronic Medical Records, IV pumps, and monitoring equipment. Additional resources are available, including 24/7 respiratory therapy and intensives. The unit is currently undergoing renovations, aimed at improving facilities and increasing capacity for emergency care services.
